Patricia Fiamengo, LCSW

Owner & Founder

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Master’s level Addiction and Recovery Specialist based in San Diego, California. I am dedicated to helping my clients find healing and empowerment through self-awareness and personal growth. I’ve worked in mental health and addiction treatment for over two decades, with experience in both corporate management positions and direct client services. For the past 5 years, I’ve been helping my clients navigate a vast array of challenges; from severe emotional and personality disorders to day-to-day struggles. My goal is to guide my clients on their journey to healing by helping them to identify and modify the core beliefs that limit their potential.

My SPECIALTIES

I specialize in individual, couples, and family counseling. However, I believe that therapy often requires an integration of all three. I incorporate other members of your life as needed throughout the therapeutic process, helping you to mend relationships, work through communication issues, or simply reinforce your support system.

An essential part of my work for the past five years has been working with military members and their families. I have experience as a Marine Corps wife and raised my children in the Marine Corps culture, giving me a personal connection to the struggles, expectations, and rewards of military service. I also understand the challenges that come with transitioning out of the military lifestyle and reintegrating into civilian life.

If you feel lost, stuck, or complacent, I provide life coaching services to help clients set and achieve their goals. I understand that life can feel overwhelming and confusing. Sometimes, all you need is a little help to get moving in the right direction. Together we can set you on a path to success and fulfillment.

My Approach

Authenticity is a central part of who I am and how I practice. I, too, have had triumphs and tragedies, which help me understand my client’s perspective. I know the pressures of life are like blockades preventing you from reaching your goals, which is why I’ve made it my purpose to help you overcome these hurdles in an environment that is both warm and encouraging. I believe therapy needs to be a safe place. As a Christian, I provide faith-based counseling options, however I am open to all religious and non-religious perspectives. I have experience in same-sex marriage counseling, gender identity issues, and counseling for transgender and transitioning individuals. I approach all my clients with the same level of kindness, openness, and attentiveness.

Education

I earned a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology in 2002 from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant University and a second Masters degree in Social Work in 2016 from the University of Southern California. The combination of my degrees allows me to work with an individual on personal development while simultaneously working on the perception of their community. I am also a Masters-level Registered Addiction Specialist with extensive experience working in addiction treatment.
