Addiction Recovery

Addiction is a form of self-medicating used to heal wounds that lie much deeper. Without help, addiction can be extremely difficult to overcome. I can work with you to mend the root cause of your addiction to help you break free from the cycle.

Feelings of anxiety can be normal but when the effects infiltrate the layers of your daily life, it can hinder your ability to carry out normal tasks. I use mindfulness and grounding techniques to help treat anxiety and restore your sense of control.

Our METHODS

Attachment Therapy looks at the connection between a child’s early attachment experiences with primary caregivers and that child’s ability to develop normal emotional and physical relationships as an adult. Attachment-based therapy helps the client to identify abandonment issues, trust issues, and assumptions that challenge our adult relationships. 

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is focused on a client’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. CBT challenges cognitive distortions thereby alleviating distracting thought patterns and providing an awareness of negative self-talk. The goal is to change negative core beliefs, replacing them with a positive self-identity that can change our entire life pattern. CBT helps us become more empowered in the way we approach our issues in life. 

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)  teaches you practical coping skills to help you regulate your emotions. It also helps you to control the extreme feelings, physiological arousals, and fears that one feels towards family, romantic partners, and friends. DBT is a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that is specifically designed to target relational difficulties

Psychodynamic therapy is primarily used to treat depression and other disorders, which make forming or maintaining personal relationships difficult. It is an in-depth form of talk therapy where the therapist and client explore unconscious beliefs and impulses that challenge present day functioning. By bringing unconscious thoughts to present-day awareness, the client can understand the patterns of their life.
Solution-Focused Therapy is used for problem-solving and crisis management. This approach focuses on current issues and establishes a step-by-step plan to stabilize the individual’s life and achieve future goals. It is used to treat people of all ages and a variety of issues, including child behavioral problems, family dysfunction, domestic or child abuse, addiction, and relationship problems.

TraumaFocused Therapy is a specific approach acknowledging how a traumatic experience impacts mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. This form of therapy is scientifically proven to be effective against the effects of PTSD, depression, and moods disorders that stem from traumatic life experiences.
